Sessional Instructor - Department of Sociology and Anthropology - Faculty of Arts (Summer 2024)
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology of the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for an instructor to teach the following course in the Spring/Summer 2024 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.
SOC 2110 – Marriage and the Family (Online)
Family and courtship are examined from a variety of perspectives: the origins and development of the family institutions, the family's present position in Canadian society, the social, political and economic factors affecting modern marriage and the manner in which these are leading to the emergence of new family forms (e.g. single-parent and blended families). Three hours a week.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will have a graduate degree or a doctoral degree in Sociology or Anthropology. Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
