Student Assistant - Learning Resource Centre - Faculty of Nursing
$17.60 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
December 1, 2024 - July 31, 2025
The Learning Resource Centre is seeking applicants for the student assistant position. This position reports to the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Coordinator and will assist the Clinical Nursing Instructors in the Learning Resource Centre.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties include:
- Tutoring students
- Assisting students with resources
- Organizing supplies and equipment
- Setting up equipment for specific labs
- Returning equipment to the storage area following lab
- Cleaning and equipment maintenance, word processing
- Literature searches
- Photocopying, and filing
- Some lifting at times (assisting with transferring manikins and moving other pieces of equipment)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current UPEI student enrolled in their first or second year of the nursing program
- Ability to work flexible hours. Hours will vary depending on program demands in the Learning Resource Centre (day and evening shifts)
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability, initiative, and good organizational skills.
- Flexibility, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- The ability to accurately follow instruction and attention to detail are important skills in this position
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills also required
