Student Research Assistant (Up to 2 positions) - School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences - Faculty of Science
$15.40 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
ASAP to December 31, 2024
Are you interested in being a part of creating and promoting inclusion in Science and Engineering at the UPEI Campus and surrounding communities? If so, we are seeking applicants for up to 2 Student Research Assistants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and categorize inclusive initiatives at universities in science and engineering across Canada
Synthesize a list of candidate types of activities that could be deployed at UPEI
Plan and host a kickoff meeting for the Realizing Inclusive Science and Engineering (RISE) community at UPEI
Prepare a report for funders and community members regarding the outcomes of the above activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a UPEI Student with preference given to 3rd and 4th year students in an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Science or FSDE
- Students must have high academic standing of 75% in their overall grade
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
- Previous experience working in community building or in inclusion initiatives considered an asset
Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
