The Faculty of Education is seeking one Graduate Student with a strong pedagogical background in mathematics education is needed to support students in learning foundational concepts in mathematics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide tutoring in foundational concepts in mathematics education
  • Liaise with instructor to identify student needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate Student in good standing, with preference given to Master of Education Students
  • Expertise in teaching mathematics in the K to 12 system
  • Background and expertise in course content in courses such as Math for Teachers
  • Experience in teaching in higher education
  • Be available during the day or after school to meet with students
  • Prior experience as a teaching assistant in mathematics

This position is covered by a Collective Agreement between the Public Service Alliance of Canada and the University of Prince Edward Island. Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students.
