The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor during the Winter 2024 semester (January – April 2024). This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note: the courses offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

BIO 4090 Special Topics in Biology
(Biodiversity and Conservation Ecology on PEI)

This course examines fundamental concepts, ideas, and approaches used in conservation biology. Different philosophies and perspectives on setting priorities for preserving and man- aging biodiversity are also discussed with a focus on PEI and the greater Canadian context.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants should hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a field of science/biology related to the course content. 

Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.

Salary: As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1
