The Department of Biology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for Sessional Lecturers during the first Summer Semesters 2025 (May 12 – June 27), and the second Summer Session (June 30 – August 18) subject to final budgetary approval. 

Individuals qualified to teach the following courses are encouraged to apply.

1^st Summer Session (May 12 – June 27, 2025)

BIO 4090: PROJECT LEADERSHIP

This practical, hands-on course combines current project management knowledge, skills, tools, approaches, and techniques to provide scientists and engineers with a project management toolbox.  Project and change management methodologies, including respective frameworks, will be employed to choose the best approach for different projects.  The course will cover the entire project lifecycle, including must-have project documents and assessments, stakeholder engagement, communication management, and team culture.  The challenges of leading virtual, global, and diverse teams in a digital environment and engaging artificial intelligence for project management tasks will be other focus areas.  The skills obtained in this course can be applied seamlessly in the workplace to increase project success and add value to the organization.

Classes:  M/W 8:30-11:15

QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. or other degree that qualifies them to teach this course. Documented experience teaching is preferred. 

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster, and to those with experience in teaching university level courses.

SALARY: As per Sessional Instructor Stipends outlined in the Collective Agreement of the UPEI Faculty Association, Bargaining Unit #1, subject to final budgetary approval.
