UPEI Debate/Model United Nations Club: MUN'24 Competition

Event Date:
Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 11:00 pm
Location:
Don and Marion McDougall Hall

Greetings from the UPEI Debate/Model United Nations Club,

We are an officially recognized Debate/Model United Nations Club under the UPEI Student Union with the aim to create an enigmatic, thought-provoking, innovative and diverse community of debaters, philosophers, conversationalists, diplomats, writers and innovators of ideas across various universal and global subjects and issues.

On that note we are pleased to bring to your attention UPEI’s second Model United Nations Conference 2024!

Model United Nations is a simulation of a United Nations Conference that students participate in as delegates/representatives of various countries across the world and debate/discuss various world issues and possible solutions to the issues. Agendas/Topics are assigned to each committee to discuss.

We strongly believe that an academic conference like this would help students explore and build practical knowledge of their studies within the global dialogue and give them exposure into being future world leaders in their spheres of academia. This year we have three distinct UN Committees with topics ranging from the climate crisis to human rights crises. Students experience idea development, team work, debate and diplomacy within the conference.
