Black History Month Event: Creating A New Dynamic on Campus
The Black Cultural Society of PEI has partnered with the UPEI International Student Office to host a panel discussion called "Creating A New Dynamic on Campus" as part of Black History Month 2020.
With the growth of a Black student body on PEI comes the need for increased support and advocacy. Advocacy can come in many forms but one option that is common among post-secondary institutions is the Black Student Union. During this panel, issues around advocacy, skill-sharing and mentorship in academic and non-academic life will be explored. Are Black Student Unions the next step in creating a new dynamic for our university and colleges in PEI?
For Holland College students, Pauley Bus will be providing transportation to attend this panel:
- Two pick-up times: 4-4:30pm/5-5:30pm at the Holland College, Charlottetown Campus main doors (Kent St.)
- After event, two pick up times: 7:30-8pm/8:30-9pm at the UPEI bus stop by the W.A. Murphy Student Centre
All are welcome. Funding provided by: Innovation PEI, PEI Culture Action Plan
