UPEI and the International Centre for English Academic Preparation (ICEAP) have established a cooperative Pathway program to help qualified and motivated international students apply to BEd or MEd programs at UPEI. This will allow for further academic challenges and growth for interested students and for a first-class higher learning experience that will lead them to a promising career in the education field.

ICEAP

Students admitted to the ICEAP campuses and who successfully complete the Pathway program and meet other program-specific admission requirements will be eligible for admission into the Master of Education or Bachelor of Education degree programs at UPEI.

GEAP

UPEI offers its own graduate English Academic Preparation pathway. Students can apply directly to UPEI Faculty of Education and if their IELTS score does not meet the minimum standard:

• IELTS of 7.0 (writing and speaking),
• IELTS of 6.5 (reading and listening), and
• an overall score of 7.0.

Students with a minimum of 5.0 on their IELTS will be directed to the Graduate English Academic Preparation program to take courses to upgrade their English skills at UPEI. For more information, please visit our Graduate English Academic Preparation program page.
