Ron MacDonald appointed Interim Dean of Education

Dear members of the campus community, On behalf of the University of Prince Edward Island, I would like to inform the campus community that Dr. Ron MacDonald, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education, has been appointed interim Dean of Education, effective November 1, 2013. Dr. Miles Turnbull, outgoing dean, recently announced he had accepted the position of Vice-Principal Academic at Bishop’s University, beginning in January 2014. Ron MacDonald earned his PhD degree from the University of South Australia. Before teaching at Cape Breton University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and UPEI, Dr. MacDonald was a junior and senior high school science teacher in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He was also an information technology integration specialist and professional development facilitator. Dr. MacDonald joined the UPEI Faculty of Education in September 2005 and was appointed Assistant Professor in 2006, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, in particular science methods, and conducting research in the intersections between teacher attitudes toward Information Communication Technology (ICT), leadership, and professional development for ICT integration.
