The UPEI Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) showcased the best in sustainable design engineering projects by its students at the annual Student Design Expo on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Teilhard de Chardin: A Book of Hours, co-edited by Dr. Libby Osgood, CND, assistant professor in the UPEI Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering, and Dr. Kathleen Deignan, CND, Iona College, New York, will be launched on Wednesday, May 17, at 7:00 pm at the Charlottetown Library Rotary Room. 

The University of Prince Edward Island is beginning the search for the next President and Vice-Chancellor to lead the university and strengthen the high-quality post-secondary educational experience for which UPEI is known.

Dr. Larry Hammell, professor of health management, Atlantic Veterinary College at UPEI, is the recipient of the College’s 2022 Atlantic Award of Excellence in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Care.

Four poems from Dr. Laurie Brinklow’s PEI Book Award-winning poetry book, My island’s the house I sleep in at night (Island Studies Press/Walleah Press), have been set to music by Don Kay, one of Tasmania’s best-loved composers.

The University of Prince Edward Island will hold Convocation during four ceremonies scheduled for May 16 to 19. Over 1,100 graduates comprise the Class of 2023. 

On Thursday, May 11, six student teams will pitch their business for a share of $56,000 in prize money during the Panther Pitch Competition. The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, Room 242.

The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers are thrilled to welcome PEI native and former captain of the Charlottetown Islanders, Keiran Gallant, to their team for the 2023–24 season.

Dr. Greg Naterer, Vice-President Academic and Research at the University of Prince Edward Island, received the K.Y. Lo Medal for significant engineering contributions at the international level from the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Gatineau, Quebec.

The form for students to select the Pass/Fail Grade Replacement Option is now available on the UPEI Student-App. The option, which is being offered for most courses after numerical grades have been assigned, is available until May 8, 2023.
