The University of Prince Edward Island recognizes the importance of balancing freedom of expression and a supportive learning environment, and that learning can sometimes be uncomfortable.

UPEI reaffirms its commitment to free expression, critical thinking, and public dialogue.

The University has reached out to Mr. Christopher Griffin, former Artist-in-Residence at the Atlantic Veterinary College, to offer him the opportunity to give a talk about his artwork and perspective and to show his series of paintings on campus.

It is an important opportunity for the University to explore freedom of expression and the role of art in a time of sociopolitical tension like the one in which we are all currently living.

The University will actively pursue discussions on this topic.
