The following message was also emailed to UPEI students, faculty, and staff on January 3, 2025.

Dear Members of the Campus Community,

On behalf of the Advisory Selection Committee, I am pleased to update you on the search for the Vice-President, People and Culture (VPPC) position.

Since the search process began in Fall 2024, the committee has undertaken a comprehensive search and has selected two finalist candidates. We are grateful that these excellent candidates are investing their time and are willing to join the campus community for in-person vision presentations as well as several small-group meetings (by invitation only). Finalist Candidate A will be on campus on January 9, while Candidate B will be on campus on January 16.

Candidate A: Vice-President, People and Culture—In-Person Vision Presentation and Q & A

  • Thursday, January 9, 2025
  • 2:00–3:00 pm
  • Duffy Science Centre, Room 135 (DSC 135)

Candidate B: Vice-President, People and Culture—In-Person Vision Presentation and Q & A

  • Thursday, January 16, 2025
  • Time and location will be released once confirmed

It is unusual in today’s post-secondary education landscape to offer current students, staff, and faculty the opportunity to meet finalist candidates in advance in this open manner. However, we recognize that it is important for the campus community to have engagement in this search process. At the same time, we are committed to protecting the candidate’s privacy as much as possible and lower the risk to their careers and existing organizations.  Therefore, the vision presentation is in-person only and limited to current UPEI students, staff, and faculty.

I ask that campus community members keep all discussions and comments confidential and not share the name of the candidate during or after their visit to the University. Recording the presentation is strictly prohibited and no recordings will be distributed following the sessions. Paper copies of the candidate’s cover letter and curriculum vitae/resume will be available for attendees to review.

A feedback survey for Candidate A, available at this link, is in place for members of the campus community to provide their input and feedback following the vision presentation and small-group meetings until 5:00 pm, January 16, 2025.

I would like to thank members of the campus community in advance for respecting and helping to protect the privacy of our finalist candidate as well as the members of the Advisory Selection Committee for their dedication to this important process.

Sincerely,

Wendy
