Ren’s Pets donates $5,279 to support AVC hospital expansion fund
The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) extends heartfelt thanks to Ren’s Pets for their generous donation of $5,279 to the AVC Small Animal Emergency and Urgent Care Expansion Fundraising Campaign. These funds were raised through Ren’s Pets’ successful Dogust Event, held in August, which celebrated our furry companions while giving back to the veterinary community.
The donation will contribute directly to the expansion of the AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital, a critical initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of care provided to animals across Atlantic Canada. The expanded facilities will allow for the creation of more exam and consultation rooms, enhanced emergency room and triage spaces, and flexible teaching areas for students. The fundraising goal is $6 million.
“Donations like this are instrumental in advancing our ability to provide exceptional veterinary care, conduct research, and train the next generation of veterinarians,” said Dr. Dominique Griffon, dean of AVC. “We are grateful to Ren’s Pets for their commitment to the well-being of animals and their support of our mission.”
Dogust took place in a dozen stores across Atlantic Canada throughout the month of August, encouraging customers to donate to AVC and be entered into a draw for big prizes.
