Call for Expressions of Interest: University Strategic Plan Steering Committee Membership

The following message was also emailed directly to students, staff, and faculty on September 23, 2024. 

Dear University Community,  

As we move into fall, we are eager to begin the process of rolling out a series of conversations and consultations to engage with University constituency groups on the development of UPEI’s 2025–2030 strategic plan.  

An important step in this process is the development of the University Strategic Plan Steering Committee. This committee will play an important role in guiding the development of the strategic plan.  

As co-chairs of the Steering Committee, Suzanne Kresta (Dean, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering) and I are looking forward to bringing UPEI representatives together for the purpose of forming a strong direction for our University. Our goal is to achieve a level of inclusion and diversity within the Steering Committee membership that reflects UPEI’s community.  

The Terms of Reference for the University Strategic Plan Steering Committee outline the mandate and membership structure.  

We invite University members interested in serving on the Steering Committee to put their names forward through a Call for Expressions of Interest. If you would like to nominate a colleague to serve on the Steering Committee, you can also do this through the same form.  

The call will be open until Tuesday, October 1. Once submissions are received, Dean Kresta and I will select members from the process. Efforts will be made to ensure a balance of representation and as much diversity as possible.  

Consultation engagements will take place on and off campus with various community groups throughout the strategic planning process over the coming months. All University members will have the opportunity to provide input and feedback as we work together to build a roadmap for the future.
