UPEI names new Director of Human Resources
The University of Prince Edward Island is glad to share the news that Kelly Drummond has been appointed the new Director of Human Resources for the University, effective February 5, 2024. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and long-term management approach for human resources at UPEI.
Kelly brings a wealth of human resources experience from across the public sector to her new role at UPEI. She is currently the Director of Human Resources, Corporate Planning and Principal Support for the Public Schools Branch. In the past, she has served as the Director of Human Resources for Health PEI and as a longtime Human Resources Manager for the Public Service Commission.
Sue Connolly, Interim Vice-President, People and Culture, warmly welcomes Ms. Drummond to UPEI.
“We are so fortunate to attract someone with Kelly’s depth of experience, knowledge, and expertise to lead our Human Resources department. The hiring of our new Director of Human Resources fills an important leadership position for UPEI as we work to develop the V-P, People and Culture portfolio. A competition is underway for another critical leadership role—the Director of EDI and Human Rights.”
Ms. Connolly said that over the last several months, Virginia Wickstrom has capably served as Interim Director of Human Resources.
“I want to thank Virginia for stepping up to support the University and the Human Resources department.”
