UPEI kinesiology students seek clients for in-person personal training
Students taking the Kinesiology 3440-Active Living Practicum course at UPEI are seeking volunteers to participate in personal training sessions.
The sessions start on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the UPEI Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre, at either 9:30 or 10:30 am. Participants must be between 30 and 70 years of age. They will meet with their student trainers twice a week for 10 weeks.
“The program has benefits for the participants and the students,” said course instructor Brett Roberts. “Students get hands-on experience in skills that they will use in their careers as kinesiologists, and the participants learn the importance of being physically active.”
The cost to participants is $60+HST for 10 weeks. No previous experience with personal training sessions is necessary.
