UPEI’s Giving Tuesday campaign supports UPEI Athletics and Recreation

Giving Tuesday, a global movement for giving and volunteering, is November 28, 2023. This year, the UPEI Giving Tuesday campaign is dedicated to supporting UPEI Athletics and Recreation.

This fundraising effort seeks to elevate the experiences of UPEI student-athletes and recreation enthusiasts in the community. The support from donors on Giving Tuesday will help enhance varsity academic support programs, nutrition programs, athletic financial awards, high-performance training, recruitment, and schedule enhancements, as well as various community engagement, club sport, and recreation activities. These initiatives not only strengthen the student experience, but also inspire and mentor the next generation of leaders and athletes.

“We are very grateful for any and all donations as they are integral to the success of our athletic and recreation programs, which benefit the health and wellness of UPEI students, faculty, and staff, and the broader PEI community,” said Jane Vessey, director of athletics at UPEI. “

Every donation made before or on Giving Tuesday that is designated to “UPEI Athletics and Recreation” will be matched up to $15,000 by a dedicated group of donors—John Horrelt, Donnie MacFadyen, Bruce Donaldson, and the UPEI Alumni Association.
