UPEI hosts Sneak Peek Open House at new residence building
The University of Prince Edward Island is holding an open house on Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the new Performing Arts Centre and Residence building.
The event offers a chance to tour the new residence. Whether you are a student moving into residence in the fall or part of an organization looking to rent space for an event, you are welcome to drop by for a sneak peek at the tallest building in Charlottetown.
Attendees will be able to take the elevator to the ninth floor for a commanding view of Charlottetown and beyond. There will be complimentary snacks, prize giveaways, and the latest Panther gear for sale from the UPEI Bookstore.
“While the new facility opened earlier this year for the 2023 Canada Winter Games, not many have had a chance to see it set up as a student residence,” said Austin Clement, UPEI’s Director of Ancillary and Conference Services. “Everyone is welcome to join us on Saturday to have a sneak peek.”
UPEI's Performing Arts Centre and Residence opened in 2023, built in cooperation with the 2023 Canada Winter Games and the Government of Prince Edward Island. The building features two towers of residence apartments and lounges that can house up to 374 students, with classroom space and a 400-seat auditorium on the main floor. The south tower is five stories, and the north tower is nine stories, with views on all sides.
