Students participating in the 2023 UPEI Student Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) will present their final posters on Wednesday, August 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, in the concourse of the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering Building.

“This year we had the largest cohort of undergraduate student researchers participate to date, with 35 across 12 disciplines in the program,” said UPEI graduate programs officer Kendra Mellish.

During the 11-week program, students participated in research skill-based workshops and attended presentations from UPEI researchers and others about their careers and research. They gained insights about research within UPEI, including learning about practical tools for designing, managing, conducting, and now today communicating results of research projects.

The program wraps up with the poster competition where 21 of the students will speak about their research on diverse topics, including actuarial science and statistics, anthropology, biology, chemistry, computer science, environmental studies, physics, psychology, religious studies, and sustainable design engineering. Prizes will be awarded to the top three presentations.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and light refreshments will be served.
