Message from the Presidential Search Committee: New committee member fills vacancy
The following message was also distributed to students, staff, and faculty by email on July 21, 2023.
Dear Members of the University Community,
On behalf of the Presidential Search Committee, I am pleased to announce that Megan MacLean, Director of Experiential Education and English Language Centre, has been appointed by the UPEI Board of Governors as the staff representative on the committee. Megan will replace Sue Connolly who withdrew voluntarily from the committee after being named interim Vice-President People and Culture.
The Presidential Search Committee, which includes six Senate-selected and six Board of Governors-selected members, met with executive search firm Perrett Laver, one of the world’s leading international executive search firms, this week.
We are making excellent progress in confirming the open search process and developing the 12-month timeline, which will begin with rigorous stakeholder consultation exercises to develop the candidate profile for UPEI’s next President and Vice-Chancellor. We will send more information soon about the many ways in which members of the University community may provide input.
This message and future updates and resources will be available on our web pages for the Presidential Search at upei.ca/presidentialsearch.
Sincerely,
Shannon MacDonald, FCA, CPA, ICD.D
Chair, Presidential Search Committee
