UPEI Summer Reunion Weekend to be held in person from July 28 to 30
UPEI will hold its annual Summer Reunion Weekend in person from Thursday, July 28, to Saturday, July 30, after a two-year hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekend will feature events for alumni from Saint Dunstan’s University, Prince of Wales College, and UPEI.
The SDU Class of 1962 will celebrate its 60th reunion, and the SDU Class of 1967, its 55th. The Classes of 1970 and 1971 will celebrate their 50th reunions, which were scheduled for 2020 and 2021 respectively but had to be delayed because of the pandemic. The Class of 1972 will mark its 50th reunion, and the Class of 1982, its 40th.
“We are very excited to be able to return to the UPEI campus!” said Julia Parent and John Inns, Class of 1971 Life Executive. “The pandemic delayed our 50th milestone celebrations, which would have been held in July of last year, so our planning committee was happy to be able to plan for our classmates to have the opportunity to gather together again this summer."
Among other events planned for the weekend is a tour of the UPEI campus for all alumni on Friday, July 29, at 5 p.m., starting at SDU Main Building. As well, the SDU All Years’ Mass, which is open to PWC and UPEI alumni, will be held on Friday, July 29, at 7 p.m., in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, Steel Building, and the SDU All Years’ Reception will take place at 8 p.m. the same day in the SDU Lecture Hall, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE).
