Cavendish Farms named title sponsor of three U SPORTS hockey championships
The following is a joint news release issued by U SPORTS regarding the U SPORTS hockey championships.
TORONTO – U SPORTS announced Friday that Sports & Entertainment Atlantic (S|E|A) has secured Cavendish Farms as title sponsor of three U SPORTS hockey championships over the next two seasons.
The partnership includes title sponsorship of this season’s U SPORTS University Cup being hosted by the Acadia Axemen in Halifax, and the 2020 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship in addition to the 2021 U SPORTS University Cup – both hosted by the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown.

Cavendish Farms, the processor of frozen potato products, has served as the title sponsor of 10 of the last 14 University Cup championships, including from 2007-12 and 2017-present. Cavendish Farms’ support of the 2020 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship will mark their first sponsorship in the 23-year history of the event.
“Cavendish Farms is pleased to continue its support of U SPORTS and the national hockey championships. It is exciting to see the tournaments returning to the Maritimes,” said Robert K. The University Cup tournaments will be held at the Scotiabank Centre (2020) and Eastlink Centre (2021), respectively, while this year’s U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship will take to the ice for a second straight year at MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus. As previously announced, this year’s men’s hockey championship is also hosted in partnership with S|E|A.
