UPEI's track

Attention Island runners! Challenge yourself at the first-ever Panther Chase-the-Pace 5 km race at the UPEI track on November 24.

Members of the UPEI and Colonel Gray cross-country teams will pace participants in an attempt to beat their 5 km personal bests on the UPEI track, which is known as one of the fastest tracks in Atlantic Canada. The first group runs at 11 am with a goal of breaking the 30-minute mark, with the help of the varsity athletes. Three minutes after that group finishes, another group will attempt to break the 25-minute mark. This will continue with attempts at 22 minutes, 20 minutes, and 18 minutes. Finally, Stan Chaisson, a well-known PEI runner,  will be pacing a group who wants to go sub-17!

To register, email Mike Peterson at mapeterson@edu.pe.ca with your name and the time you would like to go after.

Cost is $20. All proceeds will go to the UPEI and Colonel Gray cross-country programs.
