Robertson Library Movie Talks and Dr. Ann Braithwaite present the video documentary, "Toilet Training (Law and Order in the bathroom)" on Monday, March 5 at 4:30 pm. Everyone needs a washroom! And with UPEI expanding the number of all-gender washrooms to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members of the campus community, it is important to share information. This video provides great insight into the need for all-gender washrooms. Discussion will follow. Trailer: Healthy adults use the bathroom 4–8 times during the day and 1–2 times per night. “Toilet Training” surveys the policing of gender in restrooms–persistent discrimination, harassment, and violence towards people who do not culturally fit the social norms for men and women. Through anecdotal case studies, “Toilet Training” focuses on bathroom access in public space, in schools, and at work and related problems associated with “holding it".
