Multinacci Numbers, Golden Gaskets and Fractal Trees Dr. Tara Taylor, Department of Math, Stats and CS, StFX This talk will give an overview of interesting connections involving the golden ratio and fractals. The multinacci numbers are introduced, along with their connection to the golden ratio. The well-known Sierpinski Triangle fractal is part of a larger class of fractals. The multinacci numbers are connected to these variations of the Sierpinski Triangle. There is a further connection involving symmetric binary fractal trees. This talked is aimed at undergraduate students. Note: the speaker will present at StFx and it will be delivered (Live) to UPEI via technology. Organizers: AARMS CRG (Shafiqul Islam (UPEI), Franklin Mendivil (Acadia) and Tara Taylor (StFX)): IFS, Fractals, Invariant measures and Applications.
