Observe the Moon Night

Event Date:
Saturday, September 19, 2015, 8:00 pm
Price:
Free
Join people around the world who will be gazing at the moon for International Observe the Moon Night 2015 (http://observethemoonnight.org/). Volunteers from the UPEI Physics Department and the Sidewalk Astronomers of Charlottetown will show you incredible views of the moon through their telescopes. Saturn will also be visible nearby in the sky for the earlier portion of the night so we will view that also. The viewing location will be a service road adjacent to the turf field. The nearest parking is Lot D. See the event description on our website (linked below) for a map that shows the location. The official start time 8:00 pm, but we may be ready to go by 7:45 pm provided that there are no delays in the soccer game on the adjacent field that will prevent the field lights from being turned off. This event is weather dependent. If it's too cloudy to see the moon, we'll have to cancel. Updates will be posted on our website at http://projects.upei.ca/astronomy/ or via @UPEIAstronomy on Twitter.
