* Due to weather conditions and the closure of the University, this event has been postponed until further notice. Join us for an afternoon of “Desserts and a Difference”, on Thursday, February 6 from 2:30-4:00 pm featuring a keynote address from Dr. Timothy Goddard, entitled “The quest for Buen Vivir: For whom are we making a difference, and why?” Drawing on contemporary development theory and examples from some of the international initiatives in which he has been involved, Dr. Goddard will challenge some of our taken-for-granted notions regarding the nature of development. He will reflect on the idea of international development and examine some of the ways in which local communities can assume agency for their own future. Presentation to be followed by a dessert reception, featuring instrumental music from UPEI International student, Jacob Liu, and door prize draw! Reserve your tickets today by visiting upei.ca/idw. Admission is by donation at the door. All proceeds for the event will go to the Nichola Goddard Foundation.
