Bringing in the Bystander teaches bystanders how to intervene safely and effectively. Its main message is that “everyone in the community has a role to play in ending sexual violence.” This program increases participants’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours about effective responses to sexual violence. The training program will be offered to UPEI students in two sessions on Tuesday, October 28 from 10:00 am to 12:00pm OR 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Bill and Denise Andrew Hall, room 142. Lunch will be provided to all participants at 12:00 pm. Trainer, Annie Chau, Project Co­ordinator, Preventing Violence at St. FX and Bridget Housten, a St. FX student, will share statistics and stories on why bystander intervention works.
