The Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island will hold its 24th annual Open House on Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Organized and run by AVC students, this event is free to the public and offers a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes at a veterinary medical school. Visitors will see many demonstrations and exhibits, including a parade of dog breeds, some unusual animals at a mini-zoo, a painted cow and horse, and much more. Children can bring their favourite stuffed toys for a check-up and treatment at the Teddy Bear Clinic. And they can have their faces painted, learn how to gown and glove for surgery, participate in their own Stick Horse Rodeo, and reel in some cool prizes at the fish pond.
