Harnessing Images, Text, and Sound (HITS) for Education: Culture, Multimedia, Technology and Cognition will take place from July 26-28, 2011 at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island Canada.  The goal is to create a forum during where researchers and experts, potentially from around the world, will  present data and theory on the use of multimedia in education, stimulate scholarly discussion, and develop policy-relevant approaches and analysis for decision-makers and leaders in education.  A further aim of the conference is to provide the foundation for the book that will synthesize the content of the presentations.
