Piano Recital

Pianist Sarah Hagen performs Rachmaninoff’s complete Opus 32 Preludes at St. Paul’s Church on March 22 at 8 pm.
 
Written in 1910, the set of thirteen pieces is an extraordinary masterpiece, overflowing with gorgeous harmonies and sweeping lines. These are relentlessly expressive pieces which have the ability to transform both performer and listener.
 
The performance will be 60 minutes long without intermission and will take place at St Paul’s Church. Admission is pay-what-you-will at the door. St. Paul’s Church is located at the corner of Prince and Grafton streets in Charlottetown. For more information, visit www.sarahhagen.com
 
Sarah teaches in the Department of Music in the Faculty of Arts at UPEI. Her extensive touring has taken her from Tofino, BC to Gothenburg, Sweden.  Awarded Artist of the Year by Ontario Contact (2017) and British Columbia Touring Council (2015), her interpretations have been described as “outstandingly inventive" [University of Waterloo Gazette], ”played flawlessly” [ReviewVancouver] and “with great sensitivity and heart.” [Vernon Morning Star] Sarah's motivation is the belief that music has the power to be a window into our souls regardless of age or knowledge.
