Public Presentation: Exploring the Meaning of Retirement in the Lives of Baby Boomer Women in NB

Posting Date(s)

The Faculty of Education invites you to public presentation by Dr. Linda Caisse, Associate Professor in the Gerontology Department at St. Thomas University, Fredericton, NB on Friday, November 23 at 12 noon in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Room 212.

Dr. Caisse will present her work examining baby boomer women who are the first group of women to have participated in large numbers in the paid workforce since retirement has become institutionalized. Using in-depth, semi-structured interviews and focus groups, this research explored baby boomer women’s process of leaving the paid labour force, what retirement means to them, and how their life has changed since retirement.
