The History of Humanitarianism: the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders

Posting Date(s)

The PEI History of Medicine Society is pleased to welcome Dr. Adam Rostis, St Mary's University, our first exchange with the Dalhousie History of Medicine Society, funded by the Robert Pope Foundation. His timely talk will look at the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders, both formed in the aftermath of war, but in different eras and contexts. Given the changing nature of conflict and the ever-increasing humanitarian cost of war, what can we learn from the formation stories of these iconic organizations that may shed light on how humanitarianism might look in the future?

The event is February 7 at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Lounge of UPEI's SDU Main Building. All are welcome!
