The Faculty of Arts was saddened to hear of the passing of the Rev. Dr. Ian "David" Morrison, a retired faculty member and founding member of the Department of Religious Studies. The entire UPEI community extends its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the long-time professor, counsellor, and minister. Dr. Morrison was instrumental in transforming what was essentially a department of Catholic theology into an inter-denominational and inter-religious department of religious studies. He was an extremely popular teacher and an accomplished scholar. His course on Christianity, which introduced students to the many forms of Christian thought and worship, was especially popular. He was very engaged with the on-campus community as well as the Island- and indeed world-wide community, where he generously donated his time and energy to many worthwhile causes.
