Message from the International Relations Office

Posting Date(s)
In light of the spread of the Ebola virus in West Africa, and the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring an 'international emergency,' the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) has updated its travel warning for the following countries: Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, and it is possible the travel and health emergency warning could expand into the wider West Africa region. Given the gravity of the situation, the University of Prince Edward Island is suspending all travel to Ebola affected regions that have been identified by WHO and DFATD until further notice. In addition, the international health emergency declared by WHO MAY also affect the timely arrival of international students from the affected countries for the fall semester. Therefore, it is prudent that we are all aware of this possibility and prepare for an adjustment of the start date for new students. The International Relations Office will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you posted as the situation progresses.
