Island Water Forum is TONIGHT
Posting Date(s)
A public discussion of the Island’s long-term water resources will be held at UPEI’s MacKinnon Auditorium, Room 242 McDougall Hall, on Tuesday, May 20, beginning at 7:00 pm.
Islanders who wish to find out more about our vital groundwater supply – or who have concerns or issues to raise -- are urged to attend.
The featured speakers will include two of the scientists most knowledgeable about the issue, both of whom have carried out extensive research in Prince Edward Island. They are UPEI’s Dr. Michael van den Heuvel, Canada Research Chair in Watershed Integrity; and Dr. Cathy Ryan, University of Calgary, who leads a team of hydrogeologists working with agricultural scientists to understand groundwater in the fractured sandstone on Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
This event is sponsored by the Institute of Island Studies, in conjunction with UPEI Research Services.
Members of the public are cordially invited to attend. Admission is free. Following the presentations, there will be time for discussion and questions from the floor.
