United Way Day of Caring is a unique opportunity for volunteers from workplaces that support United Way to participate in a team building experience while helping a community organization. UPEI is excited to be a part of this year's Day of Caring on Friday May 30. Although departmental operations must take precedence, we would encourage supervisors of employees who are interested to allow participation in this community effort. Interested employees will complete painting, repairing, landscaping, or other projects together to make a difference to a local community organization while learning about the organization and United Way. Last year, UPEI staff and faculty volunteers spent the day working at a Habitat for Humanity build site. A photo of the 2013 team can be found below. This is a full day event, beginning with a breakfast buffet at Redshore at 8:00 am. Lunch will also be provided and the day will end around 3:00 pm. Please note, there is something for everyone to do that day no matter your skill level and all staff and faculty are welcome to sign up and participate.
