The Faculty of the UPEI Department of Music will take centre stage in their annual gala performance on Saturday, February 8 at 7:30 pm in the Dr. Steel Recital Hall. Faculty members featured that night include Karem J. Simon, accompanied by pianist Frances McBurnie, performing Alessandro Marcello’s Concerto for clarinet and Gregory B. Irvine accompanied by Frances Gray on piano in a performance of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Sinfonia in F for tuba. Percussion instructor David Shephard will feature the marimba on A Little Prayer composed by Evelyn Glennie and pianist Frances Gray will perform East Coast Suite composed by island native Heather Taves.
