On Friday, February 14, UPEI will take part in ONE BILLION RISING—the global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. The campus community is invited to dance together to support the movement. Join us in McMillan Hall, W.A. Murphy Student Centre from 12:15–1:00 pm. ONE BILLION RISING began as a call to action in 2013 based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls.
