The Charlottetown Christmas Parade parade will take place on Saturday, November 24, 2018, beginning on University Avenue at 5:00 pm in front of the University of Prince Edward Island. As a result, there will be traffic restrictions along the UPEI Perimeter Road as the staging of the parade floats will take place on campus. Floats will begin to arrive at 11:00 am and should be fully departed by 6:00 pm. The float line-up begins at the UPEI Turf Field and extend back towards Belvedere Avenue.

Vehicles that are parked in the MacLauchlan Arena lot, and Parking Lots C, RC, DR, B, and VTH will be allowed to exit along the UPEI Perimeter Road in a one-way southward direction towards the Belvedere Avenue entrance, until the Parade line-up begins to move towards University Avenue at 4:30 pm, at which time parking lot traffic will not be permitted to exit until Parade floats have completely departed the campus. Vehicles parked in the Aquatics Facility parking lot, as well as those in Visitor Metred Parking lots in front of YSC, HSB, MSC, and MCDH will not be permitted to exit from 4:00 pm until the Parade floats have completely departed.

Dr. Caisse will present her work examining baby boomer women who are the first group of women to have participated in large numbers in the paid workforce since retirement has become institutionalized. From November 1 to April 30, winter restrictions on overnight campus parking are enforced. Parking Lot “A” is the only lot where overnight parking is permitted for the winter season. Residents of Andrew Hall and Bernardine Hall may park overnight in the Andrew Hall lot, provided that their vehicles are moved to Lot “A” during storm conditions and until the lots have been plowed after a storm.

If vehicles are left in any parking lot other than Lot “A” during storms or before snow removal is complete, the vehicle will be towed at the owner's expense. Facilities Management appreciates your co-operation to ensure parking lots are cleared safely. If you have any questions or concerns regarding winter parking, contact Mark Pharand, Manager, Security Services, at mpharand@upei.ca.

Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement to join communities together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others. For the 2018 Giving Tuesday campaign, UPEI has chosen to highlight the Atlantic Veterinary College’s Wildlife Clinical Care Fund, PEI’s only wildlife rehab centre.

The AVC Wildlife Service is a non-revenue-generating program supported by the College through time and expertise provided by clinicians, students, and staff. Being able to offer humane care for wildlife is a duty and a privilege for staff and students at the AVC. From urban foxes to bald eagles and everything in between, the AVC Wildlife Service provides volunteer support to rehabilitate sick and injured wild animals. Donations to the AVC Wildlife Clinical Care Fund are gratefully accepted.
