Background: | Dr. Harry and Anne Love have a deep appreciation for UPEI. Both are PWC (Prince of Wales College) alumni, Founders of UPEI and UPEI Visionaries. Harry graduated from PWC in 1956 and continued his studies at Dalhousie, where he completed a Masters, and eventually, a PhD in mathematics. After graduating in 1959 Anne attended SDU (Saint Dunstan's University), studying Secretarial Arts. The Loves met at PWC where Harry taught and Anne was a secretary. Harry, who has a special interest in the field of statistics, is passionate about teaching and was valued by many of his students. Anne also enjoyed teaching and they both felt that the most rewarding part of their profession was seeing students succeed. Honoured as Founders of UPEI, Harry and Anne played key roles in the development of the university. Their presence continues at UPEI through reunion events, active volunteering and as two of the university's most vocal fans. UPEI was saddened at Harry's passing in January of 2017. |
