Dr. Lawrence, originally from Amherst, Nova Scotia, obtained his DVM degree in 1983 from the Ontario Veterinary College. He was the dedicated owner of Valley Veterinary Hospital, a successful small animal practice in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was widely respected for his dedication to the veterinary profession. This commitment included time spend as president of the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association and service on various committees associated with the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association. He was a keen athlete and was involved in numerous community activities. Dr. Lawrence's greatest joy was his wife, Debbie, and children David, Brendan and Christie.
