Background: | Floyd Trainor was a graphic artist employed by UPEI in the graphics department and was a member of CUPE Local 1870. He was a well-known graphic illustrator and artist when he was employed at UPEI. When he died, CUPE 1870 wanted to create an award in his name to be awarded to a deserving UPEI student. It was felt that a prize for the studio arts course was an appropriate way to remember Floyd and his art. |
