Preference will be given to students completing the longest practical sessions. If no Nova Scotia student is eligible, students from the other Maritime provinces, and then from outside the Maritimes, who meet the other criteria may be considered. |
Background: | The poultry industry in Nova Scotia is a thriving, sustainable sector that is expected to contribute to the province's rural economies for years to come. Poultry farmers rely on veterinarians to help them maintain healthy flocks and meet stringent national animal care and food safety requirements. The Nova Scotia Feather Boards (Chicken Farmers of Nova Scotia, Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia, Hatching Egg Farmers of Nova Scotia, and Turkey Farmers of Nova Scotia) have established these awards to acknowledge the valuable role poultry veterinarians play within our industry and create awareness among veterinary students of the opportunities available in poultry medicine. |
