Description: Granted to five students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at UPEI who will study abroad as part of their UPEI education. Study abroad opportunities must be officially sanctioned by the university and be for academic credit towards a student's current degree. Students will need to provide documentation to scholarships@upei.ca that confirms their plans to study abroad, including 1) A letter of reference signed by their respective program coordinator or department illustrating they have been accepted to participate in a study abroad experience, and 2) Proof of flight purchase (e.g., travel itinerary and boarding pass) showing their name and travel details. Student recipients will provide a synopsis of their experience upon their return, which will be shared with BMO Financial Group. Funds are typically disbursed to UPEI students' accounts during the semester they intend to study abroad. The reviewing committee reserves the right to rescind an offer should a student's study abroad plans change, as they may no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
