Y's Men Memorial Fund Entrance Scholarships

Process: The successful recipient will be adjudicated and recommended by the respective high school and approved by the UPEI Senate Committee on Scholarships and Awards. Each scholarship will be presented at related high school graduation ceremony.
Scholarship Type: Award
Description: Granted annually to two students entering UPEI who are: 1. are entering their first undergraduate program from high school, 2. acquired an academic average in their last year of high school study between 70-85%, 3. have demonstrated volunteerism in their high school and/or community, 4. and who attended their full secondary education at a Prince Edward Island high school. One scholarship will be awarded to a student entering UPEI from Colonel Gray High School and another to a student who is entering UPEI from Charlottetown Rural High School. Preference will be given to a student who was or is not a member of a high school athletic team.
Background: The Charlottetown YÕs Men Memorial Fund was established in 1986 by members of the Charlottetown YÕs Men Club to support education. Like all its brother clubs around the world, the Club has a mission to strive through active service to develop, encourage, and provide leadership to build a better world for all humankind. In September 2019, the Charlottetown Y's Men Club - through its YÕs Men Memorial Fund - generously established two new entrance scholarships for students residing in their home city who are entering the University of Prince Edward Island.
