Respiratory Protection Information Session – December 14, 2015

Posting Date(s)

Respiratory Protection Information Session will be offered by SEM Partnerships on Monday, December 14th from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Location: TBA

This session will provide information regarding the care, selection, and use of respirators. Whether you currently have a respirator, or if you think you may need one for certain work tasks, then you should attend this session. Those who need to be trained, must be retrained every second year as a refresher. This session is also an important educational opportunity for those who supervise work, involving individuals who may need respiratory protection. There is no cost to attend this training as it is covered by the Health and Safety budget.

Respiratory Fit Testing Sessions – December 17 & 18, 2015

Respiratory Fit Testing for N95 Respirators will be offered Thursday, December 17, 2015. Location: TBA

Respiratory Fit Testing for ½ & full face Air Purifying Respirators (with cartridges) will be offered Friday, December 18, 2015. Location: TBA

Respiratory Fit Testing is required annually for anyone who uses a respirator in order to ensure a proper fit. Please book a 30-minute time slot through Angela Deighan in Research Services. Individuals must take their respirator or purchase one for the fit testing. As per the CSA Standard, faces must be clean shaven in order to have a respiratory fit test. Note that fit testing and respiratory supplies are departmental costs.

To register for the training session and/or a fit testing time slot, please contact Angela Deighan by email at adeighan@upei.ca or by phone(902) 628-4308.
