UPEI Athletics and Recreation will host the eighth annual Shoot for the Cure fundraiser on Friday, February 6 with a series of activities leading up to, and during, the UPEI women’s basketball game starting at 6:00 pm versus the Acadia Axewomen. Shoot for the Cure is a fundraising initiative by the CIS Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) and other related charities. The campaign goal is $6,000. Staff and faculty can support the women’s basketball team by purchasing a Shoot for the Cure t-shirt ($12) at Panther Central or the UPEI Bookstore, a paper icon ($1) from Panther Central, or through the “Gofund” donation page at: http://www.gofundme.com/k3xv14. Fundraising efforts at the women’s basketball game include a bake sale, 50/50, and “chuck a puck.”
