We are very happy to announce that after receiving approximately 30 suggestions, the name of the Peer Recognition Program has been selected! Our program will be called SOAR (for "Shout Out" Award Recipient). Thank you to Nicole Higginbotham for this successful suggestion--she will receive an Ipod Nano for her submission, congratulations Nicole! Thank you to the many others who also took the time to submit names for the program. We also appreciate receiving a wide range of SOAR nominations from across campus for the month of September. We picked one randomly from these nominations and are pleased to announce that the first recipient of the SOAR award is Bruce Ferguson. Bruce's nominator noted that he stepped into a project already in progress and "... made sure he was there for the vendor folks as well as the UPEI team. He stayed late, helped us all out, offered suggestions, explained things for us and was instrumental in getting things in place quickly while maintaining a sense of humour and positive perspective." Congratulations, Bruce on "soaring above!" He will receive an item from the UPEI bookstore while the person who nominated Bruce will be entered into the year-end nominators draw.
